Important date
Students who wish to avail this scholarship will have to fill their application through the official website https://www.prl.res.in/ by 12 January 2024 at 5:00 PM and appear for an exam which will be held on 21 January 2024. Upcoming 10 bright students who clear this exam will be eligible to get the benefit of Vikram Sarabhai Scholarship Scheme.
Necessary instructions for availing the benefit of the scheme
The benefit of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to bright students from economically weaker sections living in rural areas to pursue higher studies and gain reputation in the field of science.
This scheme is offered only to students studying in rural areas and having low income.
Students studying in Class VIII from families whose annual income is less than one and a half lakh rupees are covered under this scheme, those students can apply online.
Under this scheme, a total of 10 students are given scholarship every year out of which 50% are girl students.
Scholarship assistance of one lakh rupees is provided to the selected students for a period of four years.
Standard of assistance
Under the Vikram Sarabhai Scholarship Scheme, a total of Rs 1 lakh is given to selected students over a period of four years, with Rs 20,000 in Class IX, Rs 20,000 in Class 10, Rs 30,000 in Class 11 and Rs 30,000 in Class 12. Which is done for the science stream thus a scholarship of ₹ 1,00,000 is given in total for four years.
Who can apply?
Students currently studying in class VIII will be eligible to apply for the scholarship for the year 2024.
Note :- Under this scheme, the students will be selected based on the percentage of the class seven and the annual income of the family and the marks obtained in the examination to be conducted. Also the selected students will be eligible for assistance from class 9 onwards.
Online application has to be done
Candidates who want to apply under this scheme must first go to the official website of Physical Research Laboratory Ahmedabad and register.
In which students will have to click on the registration menu.
In which if your school is in a rural area select yes and fill the required details.
In which students have to fill all the details like name, address, school name etc. and create a username and password.
Finally, a recent passport size photograph of the student has to be uploaded and submitted.
After completing the registration process, you have to go to the login menu and enter the username, password and the specified code to login.
Online application has to be submitted by uploading the following documents.

This exam date is going to be held on 21 January 2024 Sunday.
The time and date of the examination will be intimated to the students.
The duration of the exam will be one hour.
MCQ type questions will be asked in the exam to test general knowledge and aptitude.
Three marks will be given for each correct answer and minus one mark will be counted for wrong answer.
The question paper will be in English, Hindi and Gujarati languages.
