The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has announced a total of 6,715 vacancies for Probationary Officers and Management Trainees (CRP PO/MT-XVI) across 11 participating public sector banks. This is an increase of nearly 29% from the previous year.

While the overall count stands at 6,715, this figure is provisional. Three participating banks (Indian Bank, UCO Bank, and Union Bank of India) are yet to report their vacancy counts.
The category-wise breakdown of the reported vacancies is as follows:
- General (UR): 2,719
- OBC: 1,816
- SC: 1,009
- EWS: 669
- ST: 502
- Total: 6,715 (includes 287 PwBD posts)
Important Dates & Application Process
- Registration Period: The application window is open until July 21, 2026.
- Prelims Exam: Scheduled for August 2026.
- Mains Exam: Scheduled for October 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year students can apply, but their final result must be declared on or before July 21, 2026.
- Age Limit: 20 to 30 years as of July 1, 2026 (born between July 2, 1996, and July 1, 2006). Standard upper-age relaxations apply: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and up to 10 years for PwBD.
Exam Pattern
The IBPS PO Mains exam pattern features a revised structure with 170 objective questions worth 200 marks:
- Reasoning: 40 Questions
- Data Analysis & Interpretation: 40 Questions
- General/Economy/Banking Awareness: 50 Questions
- English Language: 40 Questions
- Descriptive Test: English (Essay & Comprehension) for 25 marks
